3 Days and Counting

This year 21 members of Trinity Baptist Church (Madison, AL) will be traveling to the Dominican Republic to work, worship, and minister with the people of La Romana and the surrounding Batays.  We will be working with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship missionaries C.J. and Jack Wehmiller on a variety of projects including construction of a school associated with the local Ebenezer Baptist Church, installing water purification systems in the outlying Batays, assisting locally hired dentists in performing dental work and distributing needed medications, and conducting Vacation Bible School with the children.

Over the past several months, the team has been preparing for this trip.  We have had conversational Spanish lessons, visited doctors to get our travel vaccinations and medications, purchased and collected supplies, prayed together, discussed travel logistics, received training on taking blood pressure (thanks Madison Fire Department!), and eaten lots of pizza together.  Now, the time has just about arrived for us to depart and I know we are all looking forward to meeting at the airport at 5 am on Thursday.  As we depart on this trip, we would like to thank the entire church for the donations, prayers, encouragement, and support that we have received.  We ask for your continued prayers that our trip will be safe, fruitful, and a witness to all those with whom we come into contact during this trip.  Please pray for the people of the Dominican Republic and the work of the long-term missionaries C.J. and Jack Wehmiller.
